The most modern cutting and drilling techniques combined on the Atlas e.g. through-drill cooling and plasma cutting etc. It is equipped with an auto tool changer, and can have as many as 4 cutting torches, although two are normally sufficient. Marking can be done by inkjet, plasma, powder or punch.

All Farley plate working system have a single reinforced large section fabrication for the gantry. Due to the high potential drilling forces, the Atlas and Fabricator has a double beam construction with the drill between the beams and the other tools in front of the beam as in a conventional cutting machine.

The machine is designed to work on larger, heavier duty applications such as large boilers, bridges and heavy duty structural steel.
